We have the best customers! That’s why we value everything they have to say. We recently produced a video that explains the ease and convenience of our free Pick-Up & Delivery (link to page on website) service. Step one was to ask our customers for their input. The customers in the video were unprompted, unrehearsed and enthusiastic. Here are a few of the things they had to say…
About LaFrance:
“Their quality is superior.” “I am very pleased with the quality of the shirts.” “Dry cleaning is one less thing to think about.”
About Pick-Up & Delivery:
“This is an example where FREE really is FREE.” “There’s no more expense to me– Actually I save money.” “The only thing you have to remember is what day that they’ll be picking it up.”

Special thanks to Pete Asimakopolous, Annie Constant, Linda McKernan and Sharon Tomcsayni for their kind, honest words. We could not have explained the service any better ourselves.
Since we spend up to a third of our life in bed, our bedding gets more use than all other household textiles. Comforters, bedspreads and quilts add both beauty and comfort to our homes. With proper care you can extend their life and prevent problems caused by allergens and dust mites.
Whenever possible it is best to protect your bedding. Duvet covers are great for down comforters, adding style and protection. You can clean the duvet cover frequently and thus clean down comforters less frequently. For decorative polyester filled comforters that aren’t meant to be used with duvet covers it is best to clean them at least twice a year.
When caring for comforters, bedspreads and quilts always follow the recommended care instructions. Never machine wash a comforter that has a “dry clean only” care label, make sure to bring these to LaFrance to receive expert care. For those items that are machine washable, LaFrance also has the equipment and expertise to ensure they are cared for properly and will look their best.
If you would like to wash your own bedding, here are a few simple tips that will make sure you get the best results:
Always use a large, front-loading commercial capacity washer for large comforters and bedding. Never use washing machines with agitators; they are too aggressive and will wear on the seams and baffles. If you have access to Express Washers, such as the ones at our Cornersburg Super Laundry Center, the gentle washing and high extract speed will ensure your comforters are clean and will minimize drying time.
Use a gentle, low-sudsing detergent and remember that less is more. If you use too much detergent it will not rinse out completely and may end up with soap residue that will attract dirt and may cause irritation.
Dry your bedding in a large, commercial-sized dryer at medium heat. Periodically reposition the comforter so that it dries evenly. It is very important to dry down comforters thoroughly; otherwise they could develop mold and smell bad.
Every day the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley distributes approximately 35,000 pounds of food to 153 hunger relief agencies in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. There are nearly 100,000 people at risk of hunger in our community and over one third of them are children. Unfortunately, the demand keeps growing year after year.
September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide call-to-action effort to mobilize people to get involved with fighting hunger in America. In support of Hunger Action Month, LaFrance Cleaners has partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank and Nemenz IGA/Save-a-Lot Food Markets to create our annual ‘Clean Up Hunger’ month. Throughout September all LaFrance Cleaners and IGA/Save-a-Lot stores will be collecting non-perishable food items at their locations. LaFrance Cleaners will also be accepting monetary donations at their five locations.
Did you know that 1.5 pounds of food provides 1 meal and that $1 provides 4 meals in our Valley? You can do your part for hunger action month by helping us provide at least 10,000 meals for our neighbors who need them.
Here are several ways that you can help:
Bring non-perishable food items into any LaFrance or Nemenz IGA/Save-a-Lot store. We have Second Harvest Food Bank collection boxes available. When you bring a donation into LaFrance Cleaners you can ‘Hang a Shirt’ for hunger and receive a $1 voucher to use on your next incoming order.
Make a monetary donation at any LaFrance Cleaners location. When you make a donation of $1, $5, $10 (or more) you can ‘Hang a Shirt’ for hunger and receive a $1 voucher to use on your next incoming order. You will also be entered into a drawing for $100 in free services from LaFrance with one $100 winner at each location.
