Some Facts About Linen:
- Linen is a natural material made from the fibers of the flax plant. It is one of the oldest known textiles, with examples dating back to as early as 8000 BC.
- Linen comes from the long “staple” fibers found in the stalk of the flax plant. This is what gives it the ability to wick away moisture so well. These fibers are also quite stiff, causing them to bend easily and giving linen its characteristic wrinkles. So when your linen wrinkles as you wear it, relax, it’s supposed to wrinkle!
- If you spill something on your linen, it is important to remove the stain as quickly as possible. Linen is very absorbent, and the longer the stain remains in the garment the lesser the chances that it can be successfully removed. Blot the stain with cold water, and then bring it to the dry cleaners as soon as possible and make sure to let us know what the stain is.
- Linen takes professional care to look its best. Our careful cleaning and special finishing will give your favorite linen outfits that crisp, fresh look that you enjoy.
